Nick Diaz is known for his certified gangster type of attitude which alongwith his spectacular performances inside the octagon gave him recognition all over the years.
On Thursday, Diaz was arrested and charged with felony domestic battery by strangulation, as well as misdemeanor domestic battery in an incident involving a female victim. The Las Vegas Metro Police received a call at around 7:30 p.m. PT and 12 units were arrived at a residence. The alleged victim was transported to a local hospital and Diaz was arrested.
However, Diaz has been released after being held at the bail set at $18,000. An online search of inmates at the Clark County Detention Centre reveals Diaz is no longer in custody.
Diaz on Saturday morning posted a video on his Instagram story showing an elbow injury while making hand gestures.
The UFC released a statement on the situation saying, “The organization does not tolerate domestic violence and requires all athletes to adhere to the UFC Fighter Conduct Policy,” the statement read. “Every athlete is deserving of due process, and this situation, as with any official allegations, will be duly reviewed and thoroughly investigated by an independent party.”
Diaz hasn’t fought since January 2015. About a month ago Diaz was eligible to fight again after accepting a one-year suspension from the United States Anti-Doping Agency(USADA) after failing to inform about his whereabouts.
