Andrei Arlovski defeated Ben Rothwell via Unanimous Decision

UFC on ESPN 4 ‘Dos Anjos vs. Edwards’ - Play by Play Updates & LIVE Results -

The main event opening bout featured a heavyweight rematch eleven years in the making as Ben Rothwell looked to avenge his loss against Andre Arlovski and finally get a win to his name. This was Andre’s 30th fight inside the Octagon, but despite the fading agility and aggressiveness he still looked quick for his age as moved around steering away from any power shots from Ben. That was the game plan for Andre; to be light on the feet, hit multiple low impact shots and avoid getting clinched. Ben on the other hand looked slow, lost and unable to open up. Up until the final round, Ben’s only hope was to win via knockout, but Andre’s timing and footwork led him to vandalize Ben’s face. A big victory for Andre who was on a three fight losing streak. Ben on the other hand, hasn’t won a fight since 2016 and with this loss is in a dangerous spot.

After a tough loss earlier this year, Hernandez returned to the octagon a different fighter seeking retribution against another UFC veteran Trinaldo. Looking to avenge his only UFC loss, Hernandez’s well executed game plan earned him a unanimous win. But the fight took a slow start as less than 20 combined strikes were thrown in the opening round. With this hometown support, Hernandez looked to up the ante but hesitancy played a big factor in making the round anything but exciting. The only significant strike Trinaldo landed was a spinning heel kick which cut open Hernandez under his left eye. With very few shots exchanged, the fight was very close to call but the last minute pressure from Hernandez saw him snatch away the victory from Trinaldo.

But the New Zealander quickly found his range and as he moved forward used a right feint and landed a looping left hook that landed on the jaw and sent Vick crashing to the canvas. A few follow up punches and the referee had seen enough. Dan gets back to his win column while Vick succumbs to his third straight loss in the light weight division.

“The Big Ticket” sent the “The Boa Constrictor” crashing on the mat as he channeled his inner Jorge Masvidal to knock him out in just 12 secs of the first round. Known for his vicious ground game, Oleinik’s game plan was to take Harris to the ground and keep him there. But the lightning fast heavyweight made sure he didn’t needed to use any of his ground skills. Instead he went for a jumping knee followed by a straight left that landed on the jaw. Oleinik’s ankle gave up on him during this exchange and he dropped instantly covering up. Harris’s 12-second finish is now the third-fastest knockout in UFC heavyweight history.
