UFC: Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Tecia Torres set to take place at UFC on Fox 30

UFC on Fox 30, a.k.a. UFC on Fox: Alvarez vs. Poirier 2 just got even more interesting. The fight card of this particular On Fox event was widely expected to be star-studded and highly enthralling. The UFC management has already revealed a lot of the potential fights taking place on this card. Another highly interesting match-up has now been added to the event., i.e. a fight between former UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrejczyk and top contender Tecia Torres.

UFC on Fox 30 is scheduled to take place on 28, July, 2018 at Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The event will be the second that the promotion has contested in Calgary. The main-event is widely expected to be a lightweight bout contested between former UFC and Bellator MMA lightweight champion, Eddie Alvarez and Dustin Poirier. The duo have faced each other before, though their bout had ended controversially in a no contest back at UFC 211. Apart from this another bout has been booked between former WEC and UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo and Jeremy Stephens is expected to serve as the co-main event for the evening.

Jedrzejczyk was undefeated but lost the title in a shocking upset to Rose Namajunas. She again lost a rematch to Namajunas at UFC 223. On the other hand, Tecia “The Tiny Tornado” Torres was on a three fight win streak, though lost her last fight against Jessica Andrade at UFC on Fox: 28.

The fight between Jedrzejczyk and Namajunas was recently officially confirmed by the UFC. Both fighters are coming off of losses and will be looking to get back to winning ways.
