With Al Iaquinta stepping out of his fight with Justin Gaethje, the UFC Fight Night Lincoln faced the threat of being jeopardised. However the UFC match makers handled matters very well, replacing Iaquinta by James Vick.
Amidst all this if there is someone who stands at a definitive loss, it is Paul Felder. “The Irish Dragon” was left hanging for the second time in a row this year. Vick was originally scheduled to square off against Felder at UFC Boise on July 14th.
Prior to this Felder was supposed to fight Al Iaquinta who was brought in as a replacement for Tony Ferguson at UFC 223, leaving Felder without a fight.
Per UFC commentator Jon Anik, Felder is one of the fighters who undergo a methodical weight cut that begins several weeks ago. And to have a fight cancelled at such an important juncture, one has really got to feel for Felder.
And this disappointment was exactly what came out of Felder on Twitter.
Slapped in the face for the second time this year. Nothing kills ur motivation like training and cutting weight for nothing. Wtf #bullshit

However Felder’s disappointment didn’t last long. Ariel Helwani reported that Yancy Medeiors was pulled out of his fight against “Platinum” Mike Perry, scheduled for UFC 226, due to a rib injury. Felder’s camp decided to offer him as a replacement and the UFC accepted the offer.
Felder confirmed the same via his Instagram account
