‘Platinum’ Mike Perry has always been one of a character. Recently the Platinum has shifted his training camp to world renowned Jackson Wink MMA in Albuquerque, New Mexico in preparation for UFC 226. However that hasn’t kept the chill Florida attitude away from him which gave him comparisons with fearless UFC veteran Phil Baroni.

This time Perry came forward with a cringeworthy yet funny post on Twitter. Perry took a DNA test and found that he was French, German, British, Irish and 2% African. Therefore he claimed he is legally allowed to use the N-word. (via Twitter):

Perry made his back at historic UFC 202 back in August 2016. With a vacant spot on the main card, Perry stepped in on short notice against veteran Hyun Gyu Lim. Perry entered the weigh-ins giving high-five to the octagon girls faking a handshake with Lim. Perry backed his antics with an outstanding performance finishing Lim in the first round after knocking him down twice.

Perry has had some sort of boiled blood with almost each of his opponents. Perry also had a heated moment with #6 ranked welterweight Darren Till after his victory against Cowboy Cerrone. He has had Twitter wars with various fighters like interim title challenger Colby Covington, Darren Till and others.

Perry (11-3 MMA, 4-3 UFC) takes on surging Yancy Medeiros (15-5 (1) MMA, 6-5 (1) UFC) at UFC 226 on July 7.
