UFC Liverpool was a successful card. However the card was trending for a controversial decision victory to hometown hero Darren Till in the main event. The main event again raised eyebrows this weekend. Darren Till missed weight by 3.5 pounds. What looked like a normal act of ‘missing weight’ soon turned into what would produce life threatening implications after a video was released of Till’s weight cut.

Current welterweight and former UFC lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos who has gone through massive weight cuts to make the lightweight limit found Till’s video extremely disturbing as well. The complications were the only reason Dos Anjos moved a weight class and feels Till will do the same.

“I don’t see him fighting very long in this welterweight division,” dos Anjos said. “Every time you make weight, it gets harder and harder and harder. I’ve been there before. I feel like every time I made 155, it was getting harder and harder harder every time. That’s gonna happen to him and he’s gonna go to 185 eventually.”

In the footage, Till can be seen struggling on the mitts, crawling out of sauna, unabke to stand on his own and then admitting to have vision problems.

“He didn’t make weight, after all that,” dos Anjos said. “And we could not even watch the whole video, right? And he was 3-1/2 pounds over — off the extra pound. If he would fight for a title, it would be 4-1/2 pounds. He’s a great fighter, a young guy. But he’s going to go to 185 eventually.”
