UFC : Rashad Evans says he is at peace after being knocked out at UFC 225

Once a top prospect in the UFC, former light heavyweight champion Sugar Rashad Evans is now finding it hard to even manage a win in his last 5 fights. In what was a highlight reel knockout for Anthony Smith, Rashad’s losing streak has now been pushed to five fights.

Evans’ last UFC win can be traced back to November 2013 when he’d beaten Chael Sonnen by a first round knockout. During this unfavourable streak of losses, the 38 year old has tried everything from moving to middleweight, to facing lesser competition and again moving back to light heavyweight. In his latest Instagram post, he seemed a bit emotional. Even though he didn’t hint at a retirement, his tone was a bit reflective.

Although, he was unsure about his future, others were more definitive of it. His opponent, Anthony Smith, said that he would love to see him take an exit from fighting and take up a full time job as analyst. UFC President Dana White said that he may be leaning towards a retirement decision, but he would give him the freedom to make a definitive decision on his own.
