In a recent interview with Combate, Renan Barao opened up on a myriad of topics.

Apparently, Barao is incredibly happy about his move to ATT (American Top Team)—something he spoke about in detail.

Renan Barao was considered to be one of the best MMA fighters in the world, however, after an upset loss to TJ Dillashaw, his career seemingly took a turn for the worse.

Barao—who previously competed at Bantamweight—now fights in the UFC Featherweight division.

Barao was the kingpin at Bantamweight for a long time, however, the first loss to Dillashaw coupled with his struggles at Nova Uniao are said to have adversely affected his career.

Regardless, Barao seems positive about his upcoming fight—

“I got the best preparation possible,” Barao said. “I already wanted to move to the United States. I want to bring my son over here, in the future. I chose ATT so I could change my way of training, look for improvements. Since I already had some friends of mine training over there, telling me how different everything was, that’s what me decide. Everything changed. I’m doing my cardio with one coach, boxing with another, wrestling with another. I think I improved quite a lot.”

Barao added—“He’s a tough guy, coming off a win, but I expect a nice KO. I’m ready to give my best.”

Renan Barao faces Brian Kelleher at UFC on FOX: Emmett vs. Stephens, on February 24th.
