Robert Whittaker secured a huge win against Yoel Romero last weekend at UFC 225. The fight, which proved to be one of the best showdowns of the year, earned praise from the entire MMA community.

The split decision victory of Whittaker kicked started the discussions about a potential third fight between the two but the Middleweight champion is apparently not interested.
Whittaker currently holds two wins over Romero and he pushed the case when asked about a trilogy fight.
“When Joe Rogan asked me in the Octagon the other night, he said ‘rubber match,’ for one, I had never heard the term rubber match so he caught me off guard. On second, I just beat the boogeyman of the division twice, back-to-back. I don’t see how the division or the UFC can get the champion to fight one guy who, on both occasions doesn’t make weight for a championship fight back to back to back. I’m not fighting Yoel Romero forever,” he said on the MMA Hour.
Whittaker is only one of two fighters that have defeated Romero.
