BJJ Squad uploaded a video on their Facebook page showing Ronda Rousey train for a a pro-wrestling match against fellow Horsewomen Shayna Baszler & Jessamyn Duke for her in-ring debut in the WWE.
The former UFC Superstar shook the combat world to its core after making a surprise appearance at the end of WWE’s 2018 Women’s Royal Rumble Match, signalling her arrival to the pro-wrestling giant as a full-time WWE Superstar.
Since 2014, Rousey & the Four Horsewomen had been making sporadic appearances at several major WWE Live Events. In 2015, Rousey made her in-ring cameo at WrestleMania 31 by getting involved in an angle with WWE Alum/Hollywood Superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson against WWE’s Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon and her husband Triple H.
Two years later, at WWE’s Mae Young Classic Women’s Tournament, Rousey flanked by the other Horsewomen, participated in a brief backstage segment with WWE Superstars Becky Lynch, Bayley, and Charlotte.
The video — comprised of two parts — shows Rousey showing-off her pro-wrestling & MMA skills. In the first part of the video, Rousey’s in a boxing ring parodying a typical heavily-scripted WWE match with Baszler playing the Heel (villain) & Jessamyn Duke working as the outside interference. The match ends with Rousey getting hit by a Running Bulldog move from Shayna.
In the second half of the video, Rousey’s demonstrating her MMA techniques on her opponent by locking him in an armbar.
On the February 12 edition of Monday Night RAW, General Manager Kurt Angle revealed that Rousey will be signing her contract with the red brand at WWE’s Elimination Chamber PPV.
Except for her appearance at Elimination Chamber, no further plans have yet been revealed regarding Rousey’s future within the company. Some insiders claim that she may be the one pegged to defeat the company’s undefeated Women’s Superstar Asuka at WrestleMania 34.
