Sean O’Malley’s stock in the MMA world is on the rise. The Bantamweight star has piled up two back to back wins in the UFC and is yet to taste defeat in his 10-fight career.

In his last outing, O’Malley managed to get an impressive unanimous decision victory over Andre Soukhamthath and now, he wants the main event fight when he returns to the cage.
O’Malley revealed the same during his recent appearance on The MMA Hour and added that he deserves such an opportunity.
“My plan is to headline; I really want to headline my next card. I think I deserve it. It would sell good, well not necessarily sell good, but it would get a lot of views with me headlining the card. I’m thinking October or November some time. For five rounds, I want to make sure that I get an extra month or so to get really in shape for that.” He said.
The 23-year-old had suffered a ligament tear in his foot during his last fight and will be travelling to Las Vegas for therapy. Interestingly, UFC will be sponsoring the same.
“It’s still a little swollen. I actually went and lifted for the first time and it felt pretty good. I’ve just been icing it and I start physical therapy here soon. UFC said they’d pay for me to come out there and do my physical therapy out there, so I’ll probably go out there for a week or two and take advantage of that.” He noted.
Not paying attention to the division
When asked about his potential opponents, O’Malley went on to say that he hadn’t been really paying attention to the division.
“I haven’t been really paying too much attention to the division. I need to sit down and see who we want to fight next.” He added.
