UFC Heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic will defend his Heavyweight title against Daniel Cormier at UFC 226 this weekend. And for the first time in his career, Miocic is 100 per cent happy with his payday.
Miocic revealed the same during a recent interview and also added that he sorted out certain things with Dana White. When asked whether the fight with Daniel Cormier will fetch him his biggest payday, Miocic replied ‘100 per cent’.
He also gave his take on why UFC was not giving him the promotional push earlier itself.
“A lot has changed. I think it had a lot to do with the change in the company too, they were stuck in their transition. I’m just, I was stuck when they sold the company, they were looking for what’s good for them, but I understand that. They spent a lot of money, they spent four billion dollars it’s not like ‘ahh, sure guys.’ it’s a little bit different than that. They made it right and it was all good,” he said. (via MMA Fighting)
Apart from the showdown between Miocic and Cormier, UFC 226 will also see Max Holloway vs. Brian Ortega and a string of other fights as well.
