Stipe Miocic may have had the designation of being “the baddest man on the planet”, but his actions have never led one into thinking that he takes it literally.
With the same grace that he had won hearts of millions of MMA fans around the world, Miocic has formally said something which he considered as given after the press conference at UFC 226.

Miocic took to Twitter to reiterate what he thought was pretty obvious – a rematch with Cormier before he calls it a career.
Congrats to DC. Didn’t get the chance to say it in the cage, but lets dance again and get a rematch before you call it a career.
Thx to my coaches and team.
Being the greatest heavyweight in UFC history is a career-long journey and doesnt end here. I’m more motivated than ever!

The former champ’s biggest obstacle in getting a rematch is time. Cormier, after the knockout this Saturday, confirmed that he will defend his light heavyweight title later this year and fight Brock Lesnar somewhere in March before he hangs up his boots.
However, it doesn’t take long for things to change in the UFC. Lesnar still has to be given a clean chit from USADA, whose pool he entered, reportedly, last week.
Miocic made it pretty clear that his short term goal is family. “Listen, I know what you guys want to hear: what’s next.” Miocic said in the press conference, “Of course I want a rematch. There’s no question, but right now I’ve got bigger fish to fry. I’ve got my daughter on the way. That’s a battle I’ve got to win.”
