UFC makes it’s sophomore visit to the Canadian city of Calgary after six years on July 28. UFC first visited Calgary back in UFC 149 as the card had the fate of being cursed. To cover up for it, the UFC seems to have put up a stacked card this time for the fans in Calgary.
The co-main event features #1 ranked former women’s strawweight queen Joanna Jedrzejczyk (14-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC) who will try to get back into title contention as she faces #5 ranked strawweight Tecia ‘Tiny Tornado’ Torres (10-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC).
Coming off a loss against former strawweight title challenger Jessica Andrade at Fight Night Orlando in February, Torres would eagerly like start to start her run back at the title after what would be the biggest win of her career. To get the blueprint however Torres revealed that she is training with current strawweight champion ‘Thug’ Rose Namajunas. Namajunas has handed Jedrzejczyk the only two setbacks of her illustrious career. (via Instagram):

Torres and Namajunas have a rivalry of their own as Namajunas handed Torres her first ever loss in 2016 and Torres got the better of Namajunas when they fought under the Invicta banner back in 2013.
Namajunas first defeated Jedrzejczyk back at UFC 217 in November 2017 via knockout in the first round. What many people thought to be a fluke, they again met at UFC 223 in April. Namajunas played a kickboxing fight with the multiple time Muay Thai champion in Jedrzejczyk and out struck her via unanimous decision.
