UFC 232 will feature the much anticipated return of former two-time light heavyweight champion Jon ‘Bones’ Jones (22-1 MMA, 16-1 UFC) as he takes on a familiar face in former two-time title challenger Alexander ‘The Mauler’ Gustafsson (18-4 MMA, 10-4 UFC) in a rematch of their 2013 classic on December 29.

The stakes are as high as they come as the winner would be crowned the undisputed light heavyweight champion. On top of that Jones will have the added pressure due to a one and a half year layoff caused by his unfortunate past and the first fight against Gustafsson which he won via a close and controversial decision.

However, speaking with MMA reporter Ariel Helwani on his show, Jones’ coach Brandon Gibson believes the former champ might use his layoff as an advantage. (via Twitter):

Jones was tested positive for the steroid Turinabol in an in-competition drug test before his rematch against current double champ Daniel Cormier at UFC 214 last year. Jones who defeated Cormier via TKO in the third round, was stripped off the title and Cormier was named as the undisputed champ with immediate effect. Jones was allowed to resume his career from October 28.
