UFC: Tony Ferguson is conditioning his elbows for the Khabib Nurmagomedov fight

There are some once in a lifetime athletes who are always bound to break records and create history. It’s quite rare that such fighters fight for the same promotion, let alone in the same weight class. During some rare occasions when they do, highly publicised super-fights are booked. We are currently on the verge of witnessing one such super fight between the current UFC interim lightweight champion, Tony Ferguson and the man whom many consider to be the uncrowned lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov. Their have been many training pictures and videos of both these amazing athletes. However,one such video has gone viral, in the video Ferguson can be seen training and conditioning his elbows for the fight.

“El Cucuy” became the interim champion in his last fight by defeating Kevin Lee at UFC 216. He is currently on a phenomenal ten fight win streak. Whereas, Nurmagomedov is currently on a nine fight win streak inside the octagon and defeated Edson Barboza in his last fight via unanimous decision at UFC 219. The pair has been booked for a fight on three separate occasions. However, the fight has always failed to happen with the Russian pulling out in their last booked fight at UFC 209 due to a botched weight-cut.

The pair are again booked to face each other for the undisputed UFC Lightweight belt at UFC 223.

There has already been a lot of bad blood between the two. The fighters have seemingly been training their hearts out. “The Eagle” had previously posted a video in which he was working on his ground and pound, Khabib’s manager has asked Ferguson whether he was ready to face Nurmagomedov’s onslaught. The American was also recently seen preparing his shins for the fight by slamming them against a pole. He has now posted a video on his Instagram, in which he can been seen preparing his elbows for the fight by slamming them on a metal bar as well. Here’s what he had tweeted:
