Even though CM Punk lost his debut fight in UFC, the odds were still not fully stacked against him as the opponent in his fight at UFC 225 was much less formidable and had an identical record as Punk. However, Mike Jackson proved too much to handle for him as he lost a one sided unanimous decision.

Even though, the former WWE superstar had an optimistic outlook after the fight saying that he was feeling alive, reactions from the MMA world were mixed. Among the ones who supported him, a prominent name was that of UFC welterweight champion, Tyron Woodley. Replying to Punk’s tweet after the fight the welterweight champ didn’t hold back his thoughts and took to twitter to tell him that he was proud of his performance.

Even though Punk told ESPN, prior to the fight, that he would wish to continue his fighting carrer regardless of what happened against Jackson, Dana White thought otherwise after the fight. “It probably should be a wrap,” White said of Punk’s MMA career. “The guy is 39 years old. I love the guy. He’s the nicest guy in the world. We gave him two shots, and he had a lot of heart tonight in this fight. And I think he should call it a wrap.”
