Bharat Khandare, UFC’s first Indian born fighter will get his second chance at UFC 227.

Khandare, hailing from Nashik, Maharashtra, made his UFC debut back in Nov, 2017 – where he lost via standing guillotine choke to China’s Yadong Song. Khandare, a natural bantamweight, made his debut in the featherweight division and found it hard at the pinnacle of the sport.

As reported by LA Times, Bharat Khandare will be facing Wuluji Buren, another Chinese prospect.

Khandare, who trains out of Superhuman Gym and Jackson-Wink, was a featherweight champion back in India’s premier organization the SFL (Super Fight League). He will be looking to get on the win column in the UFC. Incidentally, his opponent Wuluji Buren, made his UFC debut in the same card as Khandare did. He lost his fight vs Rolando Dy via Unanimous decision. It looks like their paths are intertwined.

The UFC 227 card has only one fight officially announced i.e TJ Dillashaw vs Cody Garbrandt 2, but rumors are out that the UFC want to stack this card.

Dana White confirmed yesterday about the impending return of Nate Diaz, who was last seen back in UFC 202. Surprisingly, the UFC are lining up MMA all time great Georges St. Pierre for him at 155 pounds. This could set up a potential title with Khabib Nurmagomedov or a super-fight with Conor Mcgregor.

Other reported fights include bouts between the rising feartherweight stars Yair Rodriguez and Zabit Magomedsharipov; and Renato Moicano and Cub Swanson.

Here is a preliminary list of fights, as reported by LA Times.
