UFC fighters are not only fighters inside the octagon but warriors outside the octagon as well. Throughout the years, values like hard work, dedication, team work, never say die attitude have already been inculcated in them as a byproduct of meticulous amount of MMA training. And the best thing is, that they want to pass those values to the younger generation.
The best way to interact with the people are via seminars or videos. Be it anti-bullying seminar or self-defense training. Women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg is known to be one of the socially active fighters in the world. After few days on September 15, she is going to conduct an another anti-bullying seminar for kids in her adopted hometown of Huntington Beach, California. This time however, relatively smaller women have opted to give some self defense tips, Alliance MMA strawweights Angela ‘Overkill’ Hill and Jessica Penne.
Recently at the funeral service of singer Aretha Franklin, pop singer Ariana Grande paid tribute to Franklin by single her song ‘(You make me feel like) a Natural Woman’. However, it was followed with an encounter with Bishop Charles H Ellis III, the American Christian evangelical pastor, who while greeting Grande made a debatable gesture which has been under the fire lately.
Hill and Penne demonstrated few options of self defense from that particular position in which Grande was, including dangerous knees and a judo trip! (via Twitter):
Don’t get Ariana Grande’ed! @JessicaPenne and I put together a quick self defense vid to help keep us women safe from preachers. #2Straws pic.twitter.com/NrE9Q1BSCN
