UFC: UFC President Dana White says he will never ever book Tony Ferguson vs Khabib Nurmagomedov again

Khabib ‘The Eagle’ Nurmagomedov (25-0 MMA, 9-0 in the UFC) vs Tony ‘El Cucuy’ Ferguson (23-3, 13-1 in the UFC) is a dream fight for every MMA fan.Ferguson is on a ten fight win streak whereas Nurmagomedov is on nine fight win streak in the UFC. With explosive, awkward, risk taking style of Ferguson with excellent ground game, fans were excited to see how he would do against textbook yet reckless Russian style ‘Sambo’ grappling of Khabib Nurmagomedov.

However, fans had the opportunity to witness this fight for four times.One after the other, the fight got materialized again and again only to disappoint the MMA community. The fight had been booked four times for December 11, 2015, April 16, 2016, March 4, 2017, and April 7, 2018. None of those bouts materialized due to various injuries from both fighters.

During their first fight in 2015, Nurmagomedov pulled out due to a rib injury and was replaced by Edison Barboza. On their second meet which was a main event bout, Ferguson pulled out if the fight via lung issue. On their meet which was for the UFC interim lightweight championship of the world,Nurmagomedov pulled out due to medical issues related to his weight cut and the doctors opted to pull him from the event on weigh-in day.

Recent being the UFC 223.Interim champ Tony Ferguson simply tripped and injured his knee.As according to the MMA fans, the fight seems cursed. UFC President Dana White was asked whether he would materialize the fight again.Dana White said,”“Hell no!” White tops, if he would try to reschedule the match up again. “I’m never making that fight ever again. Ever.”

Featherweight champion Max ‘Blessed’ Holloway replaced Tony Ferguson on just six days notice at UFC 223 on April 7.
