UFC strawweight Michelle Waterson is all set to fight Marina Rodriguez in the main event of UFC Vegas 26.
This fight card was initially supposed to be headlined by former UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw and Cory Sandhagen, but the former champion sustained an injury and had to pull out of the fight.
The new main event fight between Michelle Waterson and Marina Rodriguez will be fought a weight class higher at flyweight and will still be subjected to a five-round fight. Michelle Waterson is coming off of a split decision win over Angela Hill at UFC Fight Night 177 back in September of 2020.
Prior to that, she was on a two-fight losing streak. She lost to Carla Esparza at UFC 249 on May 9, 2020, via a split decision. Before that, she lost to Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
On the other hand, Marina Rodriguez is coming off of a stunning second-round TKO victory over rising contender in Amanda Ribas.
In the co-main event, Donald Cerrone will take on Alex Morono in a short notice fight, after his original opponent Diego Sanchez was released by the UFC.
