The UFC Vegas 56 card was headlined by heavyweight stalwarts Alexander Volkov and Jairzinho Rozenstruik at the UFC’s Apex Facility in Las Vegas. The Russian scored a first-round TKO victory over the Surinamese.
Volkov managed to control the center of the cage for the most part of the fight and was dominating his opponent on the feet with his jabs and kicks. Midway through the fight, Jairzinho let go of a flurry and had Volkov hurt for a second. But Volkov managed to remain composed and then he landed a hard punch that rocked Rozenstruik and he ultimately went down. Volkov followed up with a few punches and then referee Herb Dean stepped in to stop the fight.
