UFC middleweight Sean Strickland showcased a dominating performance over Abus Magomedov in the main event of UFC Vegas 76, securing a win by 2nd round TKO this Saturday, July 1st, at the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas.
“Tarzan”, who is now 2-2 in his last four outings in the Octagon, had the upperhad over his Russian adversary right from the start. However, a nasty eye poke on Strickland from Magomedov right at the start of the bout almost brought it to a premature ending. However, the American was given the thumb up by his doctor to continue the fight.
“That was a good eye poke. I’m still seeing double.” said Strickland to Michael Bisping after the win. “There was a coward in me that almost said, ‘Why don’t we just stop this?’ But I heard you guys over there yelling in the back. I was like, ‘I gotta do this shit. We’re going to make this happen.'”
The fight continued into the second round in Strickland’s favour, who kept on overpowering Magomedov with his striking and at the 4:20 minute mark of Round 2, Strickland brought the fight down to the canvas and finished off an exhausted Magomedov with ground and pound, before the referee stopped the fight to award Strickland a TKO victory.

Following the win, the 32-year-old stated that he wants to go afte the 185-pound throne up next.
“I want the title,” Strickland added.
