UFC Welterweight Champion Thinks Sean O’Malley Should Not Go For a Ryan Garcia ‘Gimmick Fight’

Ever since Sean O’Malley became the UFC Bantamweight Champion, his eyes are set on 1 fight and 1 fight only. A boxing match against Ryan Garcia. However, not everyone is onboard with his choice of fight.

Joining the long list of people who think Sugga should stay in the UFC and defend his title is UFC Champion Kumaru Usman. In a recent interview, he said: “Why are we even entertaining this right now? [Sean] you have one of the deepest divisions of contenders waiting for you. Why are we entertaining you going here and there… How about we beat up a couple of guys in my division first, and cement myself as a great in my division… before I’m even entertaining these gimmick fights.”

But it looks like Sean O’Malley has his eyes set on the target. He even posted a video teasing Ryan after his win over Haney.

Ryan Garcia Replies to Sean O’Malley

In the past, after Sugga called out Ryan multiple times, he appeared of a podcast and confirmed that he’s ready to face Sugga. Ready to not just face him but destroy him.

After the dominating win over Haney, Garcia is looking unstoppable and Sean will certainly face a difficult time challenging him in the boxing ring. However, if they decide to fight in the UFC octagon (like Garcia said in an interview), Sugga will enjoy the home court advantage and will surely be a force to recon with. Considering Ryan’s punching power and fight IQ (which was in full display in his recent fight), he won’t be an easy opponent despite his inexperience in MMA.
