UFC 228 card kicks off with a bout of exciting welterweights as bonus machine Frank ‘The Crank’ Camacho (21-6 MMA, 1-2 UFC) takes on Contender Series Season 1 prospect Geoff Neal.
Camacho made his UFC debut in a short notice fight against Li Jingliang back in June last year. Camacho may have fallen on the wrong side of the decision, however he earned a ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus of $50,000. Camacho would go on to earn ‘Fight of the Night’ honours in next two bouts as well leading up to UFC 228, making it three bonuses in three bouts with the promotion.

He currently is tied with lightweight Justin Gaethje and veteran Yoshihiro Akiyama for most consecutive bonuses to kick of a promotional tenure. Camacho would like to get his name in the history books.
Speaking with Nolan King of MMA Today Camacho said, “I’m not trying to be the record, but hey man, why not?”
“It really takes two to tango,” said Camacho. “I can’t give myself all the credit for the ‘Fight of the Nights’. I promise, dude – I promise I’m trying to move my head and get out of the way. If anything, it’s so cool the UFC and the fans appreciate what I bring.”
“When we got the call for this fight, I was like, ‘Sean Shelby, I now what you’re doing here, pal. You’re trying to set me up for another good fight,’” laughed Camacho. “I’m just really blessed get to go out there perform.”
“His last two fights, the one on Contender series and the last one in the UFC , have been kind of short,” furthered Camacho. “I’m kind of excited to see what he can do against someone like me.”
