Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones recently got sentenced to a 15-months suspension by USADA. Jon Jones will be eligible to return to competition by Oct. 28,  fifteen months after failing the second drug test at UFC 214 in his fight against Daniel Cormier. Jon Jones’s samples had tested positive for Turinabol, a banned substance.

There were rumors of Jones headlining against Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 230 in Madison Square Garden in New York, but Dana White had completely denied it.

However, according to ESPN, Dana White said the promotion would like to book a light heavyweight fight between Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 232 on Dec. 29 in Las Vegas.

“It’s one of the greatest light heavyweight title fights in history and I expect the rematch to be the same!!!!” White said.

Earlier this week Jon Jones in an interview to RT said that:

“I’ve been hearing about the possibility that Alexander Gustafsson will be the first person I fight when I get back, which I’m excited about,” Jones said. “A lot of people feel like he beat me the first time we fought, which didn’t happen. It was close, but he didn’t beat me.”

Jones and Gustafsson fought four years ago at UFC 165, where Jones beat Gustafsson by unanimous decision.
