Yana Kunitskaya is reportedly putting in the hard work with Holly Holm, ahead of the former’s fight against Cris Cyborg.
Apparently, Kunitskaya, who hails from Russia, opines that training with Holm—Cyborg’s most recent opponent—gives her a unique edge going into the fight against Cyborg.
Yana Kunitskaya has always been a tremendous athlete, and partook in several different sports in Russia.
However, Kunitskaya gradually channeled all of her focus towards martial arts, and became a Taekwondo prodigy.
Kunitskaya then transitioned to MMA, and went on to win the Invicta FC Bantamweight Championship.
In the latest UFC Countdown video ahead of Kunitskaya facing Cyborg for the latter’s UFC Women’s Featherweight title at UFC 222, Kunitskaya can be seen training with ex-UFC Women’s Bantamweight titlist Holly Holm.
For long, Kunitskaya has been honing her MMA skills at the Jackson-Wink Academy in Albuquerque, New Mexico—a gym that has produced MMA legends such as Carlos Condit, Jon Jones, and so on and so forth.
Apparently, Kunitskaya asserts that her fight with Cyborg is just another MMA bout, and the latter isn’t unbeatable by any means.
Yana Kunitskaya competes against Cris Cyborg at UFC 222 which takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on March 3rd
