Yoel Romero is fighting for the UFC Middleweight title this week at UFC 225 against the formidable Robert Whittaker, but it hasn’t stopped him from thinking about his next step i.e. moving up to Light Heavyweight division and challenging fellow Olympian wrestler Daniel Cormier for the title.

After knocking out Cormier’s teammate Luke Rockhold at UFC 221, Romero earned a title shot against Robert Whittaker at UFC 225 and at the open workout scrum was asked about moving up to Light Heavyweight division by a fan.“Why not?” Romero in his media scrum said of fighting Cormier. “That’s my job and a job for [UFC president] Dana [White], too. [Cormier and I] have a good relationship for a long time. It’s like in wrestling. I can wrestle with him, it’s no problem. I can wrestle with him and after that I go eat lunch or something with him. Why not?”

Yoel Romero did not do a workout, instead electing to do a question-answer session with fans due to the fact that he just had his medicals done and had his eyes dilated.

Despite being 41 years old, Romero has no plans for retirement and because of his commitment to his body by avoiding partying and eating clean he has very few issues with longevity.

“That’s God,” Romero said. “God blessed me. I help God, too. God gave me the power and [speed]. If i go to the streets, I eat everything [it would disrespect God]. I give the blessings to God, because you have to respect God.”
