Two-division and two-sport ONE World Champion Roman Kryklia continued his reign of terror in ONE Championship after flattening Lyndon Knowles to retain the ONE Heavyweight Muay Thai World Title in the main event of ONE Fight Night 30 on Saturday, April 5.

Kryklia lit up Lumpinee Stadium with bigtime power, putting the lights out on his overmatched challenger via knockout before the first round ended.

It was a clinical start for the Ukrainian as he blasted away on his British challenger’s body while Knowles desperately tried to close the distance against the taller and quicker Kryklia.

Try as he might, Kryklia was just too sharp for the three-time WBC Muay Thai World Champion as a straight right from the king wobbled him to set the stage for another highlight-reel finish.

A well-placed knee followed by a booming left hook scored Kryklia his first knockdown of the night, and while Knowles got back up, Kryklia followed through with a head kick that sent him down once more – though it wasn’t ruled a knockdown.

Kyrklia’s next strike though would take away the need for a count as a heavy right cross put an end to the night of Knowles. In doing so, the 33-year-old secured a KO win at the 2:10 mark of the first round and bagged a US$50,000 performance bonus with it.

He also kept his perpetual record in ONE, going 7-0 now in the promotion with six of those wins coming from finishes. All in all, he improved his record to 51-7.

In the co-main event, Regian “The Immortal” Eersel banked on a second-round knockdown to end his trilogy with Alexis Nicolas with a majority decision win in their lightweight kickboxing contest.

The rivalry-sealing win was the ultimate consolation for Eersel, who lost his ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Title to the scales after missing hydration.
