UFC Fight Night on July 31 has got an amazing main event as UFC middleweight contender Uriah Hall will be fighting up and comer Sean Strickland.

Uriah Hall and Sean Strickland were set to fight at UFC 265 event on August 7, but now the matchup will take place one week earlier than their previously scheduled date. They will also be headlining the UFC Fight Night event on July 31. The location and venue that has yet to be announced, but likely to be the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. ESPN was first to report the news.

Uriah was the runner-up on The Ultimate Fighter: Team Jones vs. Team Sonnen. Before his appearance on TUF, Hall competed in Bellator MMA and Ring of Combat, where he saw success in winning the ROC Championship. Since his debut, he has gone 10-7 in the UFC. His last loss was against Paulo Costa at UFC 266 in 2018 and hasn’t lost since. He is riding a four-fight winning streak with three finishes.

In his last fight against former middleweight champ Chris Weidman he earned one of the rarest records in the UFC to win a fight without even throwing a single strike. Hall was supposed to fight Chris Weidman in a rematch at UFC 258. However, Weidman was pulled from the event due to a positive COVID-19 test, and the match was cancelled. The rematch took place at UFC 261. At the start of the first round, Weidman threw an outside low kick which Hall checked with his left knee. This check snapped Weidman’s left leg in half. Weidman immediately fell to the ground and referee Herb Dean stopped the fight and declare Hall the winner via technical knockout. This win made Hall the first fighter in the history of the UFC to win a fight without even throwing a single strike.

Sean Strickland | UFC

Strickland made his UFC debut at UFC 171 in 2014, facing Bubba McDaniel. Strickland won via rear-naked choke submission in the first round. He is 10-3 in the UFC and 23-3 overall with all his losses coming under the UFC banner. In his last outing, Strickland earned a unanimous decision over Krzysztof Jotkowhich improved his record to a perfect 5-0 in the middleweight division.
