Reigning UFC Women’s Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko (22-3) is ready to put her title at stake against Miesha Tate (19-8) for a title defense, but only if the latter comes out victorious at UFC 276.
Valentina Shevchenko to offer Miesha Tate a title shot with just one Flyweight win
Valentina Shevchenko, who has been the Women’s Flyweight champion since 2018 and across six title defenses, will be making her seventh one as she faces Talia Santos in the co-main event of UFC 275 this weekend in Singapore. Tate, a former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion, on the other hand, is all set to move to flyweight and take on Lauren Murphy at UFC 276 on 2nd July.

Shevchenko is once again the heavy favorite to retain her belt against Santos and if Tate is also successful in her Flyweight debut against Murphy next month, then “Bullet” says she will happily make her eighth title defense against Tate.
“I would love to and definitely it’s going to be the main event for the pay-per-view. I would love this fight to happen, so let’s go, let’s go,” Shevchenko said in an interview with James Lynch.
While Shevchenko is willing to give Tate a shot at her Flyweight title, its debatable whether “Cupcake” will actually earn a Flyweight title shot with just one win in the division. The former Bantamweight champ is coming off of a unanimous decision loss against Ketlen Vieira in the main event of UFC Vegas 43 in November, four months after defeating Marion Reneau via TKO in her comeback fight at UFC Vegas 31.
