The former featherweight and lightweight UFC champion tweeted that he has formally retired from the sport called Mixed Martial Arts. The 30-year-old UFC star hasn’t won a fight since November 2016, when he beat Eddie Alvarez to become the first UFC fighter to hold championship belts in two divisions simultaneously.

Hey guys quick announcement, I’ve decided to retire from the sport formally known as “Mixed Martial Art” today. I wish all my old colleagues well going forward in competition. I now join my former partners on this venture, already in retirement. Proper Pina Coladas on me fellas!” He tweeted.

Even Bollywood superstar Varun Dhawan has also reacted to the retirement of the former two-division world champion. He has mixed reactions regarding his retirement.

I’m sad but happy in a way. This guy had his run changed the sport. He’s a legend no two ways about it. #thankuconor“, He tweeted.

Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan is now looking forward to the release of his upcoming film “Kalank”, which stars Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha.
