Jessica Andrade stunned Rose Namajunas at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio De Janeiro at UFC 237 main event to win the UFC women’s strawweight championship.
Namajunas was dominating the fight with strikes in the first two-round, until out of nowhere Jessica Andrade slammed Rose on her head and the fight was stopped by the referee.
Rose Namajunas started the fight strong, keeping Andrade at bay with straight jabs. She used her range and speed on Andrade. A slam earlier in the first round, almost ended in Andrade getting submitted on the ground.

Referee Marc Goddard instantly waved off the fight at 2:58 of the second round after it looked like Namajunas was lying on the canvas and she couldn’t continue anymore.
“I was very certain in what I had to do in that second round,” Andrade said. “I never threw that move, I never piledrived anyone in the UFC. That’s my nickname and I wanted to do that. I knew she was slowing down.”
Jessica Andrade now has the highest number of wins amongst all the female fighters in the UFC history. She toppled Amanda Nunes who previously held the record for the most wins.
Do you guys think there should be a rematch?
