Mike Perry and Sean Strickland do not currently have a fight scheduled. Despite this, the current BKFC star and former UFC champion met up for a fierce sparring session in Las Vegas.
A video of Perry and Strickland sparring was shared on social media. Below is a video that Championship Rounds took of their collaboration.
Mike Perry competed in the UFC welterweight class for a number of years, but in the BKFC ring, he has achieved unprecedented success. “Platinum” has defeated Julian Lane, Michael “Venom” Page, Luke Rockhold, Eddie Alvarez, and Thiago Alves to go 5-0 since joining the bare-knuckle promotion. Of those men, only the first two made it to the last bell.
Although Perry is now the face of BKFC, boxing rules really applied to his most recent bout. He pulled on his boxing gloves again for a fight with influencer Jake Paul in July. He was defeated via TKO in the sixth round. He clearly belongs at BKFC at this stage. He will undoubtedly gain from practicing with a superstar like Strickland, though.
Who will be Sean Strickland’s next UFC opponent?
Although he began his UFC career as a welterweight, Sean Strickland really excelled as a middleweight. When he flew to Australia in the middle of 2023 and stunned everyone by defeating Israel Adesanya by decision to become the new UFC middleweight title, it was the most significant moment of his career.
Regretfully, Strickland’s tenure as champion was short-lived. Only a few months after taking home the title, he lost his first title defense to Dricus Du Plessis. Strickland was given the opportunity to reclaim his title from Du Plessis following a forgettable decision victory over Paulo Costa, but he lost much more decisively than he had the first time.
Even though he doesn’t have a bout scheduled right now, it’s clear what the UFC has in store for him.
