The former UFC interim welterweight champion Colby Covington has teased his arrival into the world of professional wrestling. Triple C who is set to take on his heated rival the UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman at UFC 245, has hinted that he might make his WWE debut at WWE’s Summerslam PPV next year and might even star in WWE’s reality TV show, Total Divas.
It should be noted that this will be Covington’s first challenge for the actual undisputed UFC welterweight title. While similarly, it will be Usman’s first defense of the title, since winning it from Tyron Woodley earlier this year.
Covington was asked plenty of questions by journalists from various media outlets during a recent UFC 245 media promotional event. He was asked about a potential future career in politics as well as about potentially joining the WWE someday. Here’s what he had to say:
Absolutely. I think after my UFC career. After I even go to WWE and win a second World title over there. I’ll be looking to run for office or Congress or something similar along all those lines.
Yeah (On whether fans can actually see him in the WWE anytime soon) you can, in fact, see me as early as next Summer, at Summerslam. And you know there have been some talks. Might even be on Total Divas one day and we have had some good talks over there and I have a lot of good friends over there. Luckily Kurt Angle might be out here for this weekend as well. So I will be having his walkout music for my fight. So you know sooner than later, but first things first I gotta go take care of business this weekend.
