Conor McGregor recently shocked the entire world by announcing his sudden retirement. He took to social media and revealed in a long message that he has finally decided to hang his gloves and that he will not be fighting again. However, to everyone’s surprise, a video of McGregor featuring alongside popular American comedian and famous late night talk show host, Jimmy Fallon was released just hours before McGregor’s retirement announcement. In his final interview before his retirement, McGregor told Fallon when asked about his next fight that he will be fighting sometime in July or after that.
Noted MMA and combat sports journalist, Helwani later revealed that while The Daily Show’s video was released last night, just hours before McGregor’s big announcement, it was in fact filmed a week ago. Thus, McGregor’s retirement announcement was not actually that abrupt and sudden.
