The UFC women’s bantamweight and featherweight champion Amanda Nunes has been beating and brutally defending everyone in the UFC, this has brought the attention of professional boxing champion Claressa Shields. Shields had called out Nunes for a boxing match. Now the UFC President Dana White is ready to make, book and promote that match.
White was recently asked by TMZ Sports about that particular match-up. While White did feel that Nunes still had plenty to do in the UFC, but he went on to reveal that he is not opposed to the idea of a boxing match between Nunes and Shields. Here’s what he had to say:
It’d be an interesting fight. Of course, Amanda has a chance, she hits like a truck. Anybody who punches the way she does has a chance. Amanda Nunes still has things to do and achieve here in the UFC first, but I am certainly not opposed to it.
She (Nunes) wants Cyborg. Yeah, she wants the Cyborg fight and I don’t think Cyborg wants that fight. I think it is pretty obvious why Cyborg would not want that fight. It is not a good fight for her. It’s a bad fight for her.
