The Stylebender Israel Adesanya has had plenty of comparisons with legends of the game like Anderson Silva and Jon Jones. However, he has lately also had some similarities pointed out to the enigmatic Conor McGregor because of his charisma and his PPV selling skill showcased at UFC 234. Adesanya recently discussed these comparisons to McGregor with noted journalist Luke Thomas. However, more interestingly he also stated that he feels McGregor is returning to his old “I just want to fight” mindset.
Adesanya recently made an appearance on MMA Fighting’s, The MMA Hour. Here’s what Adesanya had to say regarding McGregor:
A guy like Conor McGregor, one thing I really appreciate about him is that when he first got into the game and one thing why he inspired me was cause he, well his love for fighting and eventually I don’t know, it just kind of became less about fighting and more about money. More about selling numbers and breaking records like you saying, pay per views and all that kind of a stuff.
I don’t even know the guy properly but one thing which I can say from what I see lately from the way he is posting his training’s. I feel like maybe he is getting back to that, that same mindset. It is about fighting at the end of the day.
