Interim UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya is all set to fight UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker is what is described as the biggest fight in Australia’s history.
However, a few days ago Adesanya said that he will fight Jon Jones in 2021 at the Raiders Stadium in Las Vegas, which resulted in a series of tweets from the UFC light heavyweight champion said that Adesanya is bringing into his own hype and that he will knock him out.
Adesanya talked to the media at UFC 243 open workouts where he addressed his recent ongoing feud with Jon Jones and said that Jones was jealous that he was taking his shine away.
“I have said it you know…in high school when the freshman comes in and starts taking all the shine…..the senior is like ‘who is this motherf***er, skinny black kid’ taking all the shine away from me….when he[Jones] was the one doing it in the first place and he fucked himself by tarnishing his own legacy and I’m just, I’m just doing me, so I have to just keep doing me and they can keep hating all of them,” Adesanya said.
In a tweet, Jon Jones also said that he is going to make Adesanya his bit*h when the time comes to fight.
“That’s what he has to say to make himself feel good,” Adesanya said to the media. “That’s what he has to like pump himself up……like he is a legend, he is already a living legend but I’m on my there as well and yeah he has to say whatever he has to say to cheer himself up and I do the same thing, I have my own little witchcraft I do to get myself up for fights but um yeah….I don’t know if he means it, I don’t care but eventually, we will fight, I have already set the date, I have set the stadium, I have put all this in line,” Adesanya concluded.
