Current UFC strawweight champion Weili Zhang has already become a superstar in China after her first-round TKO victory over Jessica Andrade at UFC Fight Night 157, which took place in Shenzhen, China on 31st August.

Although there isn’t any news as to when she would fight next, MMA fans believe former champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk should be the next in line to fight Zhang. But the Chinese champion says that she has her eyes set on UFC flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko as she wants to fight the best.

However, if the fight with the ‘Bullet’ doesn’t come into fruition, she is fine with taking on Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

I definitely want to fight the best of the best, and I think Valentina is the best among the female athletes, so that’s why I want to fight her,” Weili Zhang said backstage at UFC Boston. “For my own division, Rose [Namajunas] is a very good fighter and I respect her a lot. But if the UFC wants me to fight Joanna, no problem. I can definitely beat her.”

Joanna dominated Michelle Waterson in her last fight and defeated her via unanimous decision at UFC Tampa which took place earlier this month. Zhang who became popular after her victory against Andrade in China said that she wants to fight in the US next so that she can build her international fanbase.

I wish the next fight could be in the states because I know a lot of fans still don’t know who I am. I want to give them a great fight and let them know who I am. And, prove I’m a great strawweight champion,” Weili Zhang said. “But before that, I hope all my coaches can come to the states and help me to prepare my camp.” (H/T – BJPenn.com)
