Former UFC champion Sean Strickland was in Japan last week. And the American star decided to take on some sparring lessons against a Japanese K-1 champion.

Sean Strickland vs K1 Champion Rukiya Anpo

In a viral clip, Strickland can be seen sparring with the Japanese kick boxer (who is 40 pound lighter then Sean). And to everyone’s surprise, Anpo was not just able to match Sean Strickland but even dominated him with his lightning fast blows.

However, Strickland came back with double the intensity and dominated the K-1 star.

Who is Japanese K-1 Champion Rukiya Anpo?

Anpo is a professional kickboxer who has made a significant impact in the super lightweight and welterweight divisions of K-1. In the past, he has won K-1 title in the super lightweight division and fought in Japan’s top fight promotion Rizin.

Fans Troll Izzy

After the video of Anpo going ballistic against Sean Strickland went viral, many fans took it as a chance to troll Sean and even Israel Adesanya.

Israel Adesanya defended his UFC Middleweight belt against Sean Strickland at the UFC 293 in Sept 2023. Despite a strong start, Izzy was unable to beat Strickland in the 5 rounds and Sean was awarded a decision win.
However, Strickland was unable to defend his belt against du Plessis at the UFC 297.
