It goes without saying that Conor McGregor without a doubt the biggest stars in MMA and his popularity transcends the sport. Thanks to his popularity and drawing power, Conor McGregor has established himself a legitimate PPV draw with every fight of his selling over a million PPV buys.
Such is his popularity and star power that his last fight was in the boxing ring and it sold a record 4.4 million PPV buys in North America. He is also a very lucrative figure for numerous advertisers, especially Reebok which is the official apparel and clothing sponsor for the UFC.
McGregor recently signed a Multi-Million sponsorships deal with Reebok and Monster Energy.
“We’re estimating around 3 to 3.5 million (on PPV),” McGregor said at a raucous press conference held at Park Theater. “I’d say I’ll close in around the $50 million marks. So for a mixed martial artist to make $50 million in a mixed martial arts bout, it’s quite breathtaking.”
Conor McGregor has also launched Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey, which is produced by McGregor’s own company Eire Born Spirits, which he is the founder, chairman and majority owner of the company. The Whiskey is also the official sponsor for the UFC 229 super fight and according to McGregor, the sales for his whiskey is off the charts.
Asked when his earnings would make him a billionaire, the former two-division champ had an optimistic estimate.
“I’m 30 years of age – I’d say by 35,” he said.
To put this into perspective, Floyd Mayweather became a billionaire when he was 40 years old.
