First Indian women in the UFC: Puja Tomar
After dominating MFN Puja Tomar (8-4-0) is set to make her UFC debut. And it makes her the 1st female fighter from India to sign a contract with the UFC. Aptly nicknamed “The Cyclone,” draws inspiration from Jackie Chan films. Her journey from wushu champion to MMA fighter showcases her resilience and determination. Ritu Phogat: Carrying on the family legacy
Ritu Phogat made national news when she decided to move to MMA from wrestling. Coming from a renowned wrestling family, with her father, Mahavir Singh Phogat, leading the way. She successfully transitioned from wrestling to MMA, training at Singapore’s Evolve MMA.
As part of ONE Championship’s Strawweight division, Ritu boasts a record of seven wins and three losses. And headlined a lot of matches against the top female athletes.
Manjit Kolekar
Manjit Kolekar’s aggressive fighting style has earned her recognition across the MMA circuit. She holds an impressive professional record of 11 wins and 4 losses. In the past, Kolekar’s dominance in the Super Fight League (SFL) Contenders division speaks volumes about her skills.
Laishram Surbala Devi
In 2021, Laishram Surbala Devi made history by winning gold at the Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts (GAMMA) World Championships in Amsterdam. Roka is a well known name in the MMA circuit. One of the most dominant female fighters in the Super Fight League made her transition from Boxing. Roka (4-3-0) is known as the Knockout Queen.
