The first-ever NXT North American Champion has been crowned at NXT Takeover: New Orleans. After a phenomenal ladder match between Ricochet, EC3, Killian Dain, Lars Sullivan, Velveteen Dream and Adam Cole, one man came out as the victor and made history, Bay Bay.

Yes, Adam Cole is the NEW NXT North American Champion and the first in history. In what was said to be one of the best ladder matches in history, Cole came out with gold around his waist.
History has been made.

The ladder match received praise from fans, wrestlers as well as critics who were all at the edge of their seats. Famous wrestling journalist Bryan Alvarez and former SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch also took to their respective Twitter accounts to praise the match:

Some fans are also expecting this phenomenal match to get the infamous “5-Star rating”. However, it’s not easy to disagree with these fans because the match is more than deserving of that prestige.
The leader of the Undisputed Era had to wrestle two matches on the same night as he teamed up with Kyle O’Reilly to defend the NXT Tag Team Championship under the Freebird rule. However, they won that match as well after Roderick Strong turned heel on Pete Dunne and joined the Undisputed Era.
However, Cole’s efforts paid off and now the Undisputed Era holds the North American Championship as well as the NXT Tag Team Championship. With Roderick Strong’s inclusion into the stable, they’re almost unstoppable.
