WWE: Braun Strowman and Daniel Bryan break Royal Rumble records

Strowman and Bryan were two of the last three competitors in last night's Greatest Royal Rumble match

At last night’s Greatest Royal Rumble event, the two performers that stood out were Daniel Bryan and Braun Strowman. One had the performance of a lifetime as he lasted for over an hour in the gruesome match and the other made history by winning the first ever 50-man Rumble.

Braun Strowman made history last night when he won the first ever 50-man Royal Rumble match at the Greatest Royal Rumble mega-event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. However, the Monster Among Men broke another record that was previously held by the Big Dog Roman Reigns.

Braun Strowman now holds the record for the most eliminations made in a Rumble match as he eliminated 13 other men competing in the match. WWE released an official statement for this humongous feat achieved by Strowman:

Braun Strowman breaks record for most Royal Rumble Match eliminations

Braun Strowman made history in more ways than one at the first-ever Greatest Royal Rumbleevent in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Not only did The Monster Among Men outlast 49 other Superstars to become the Greatest Royal Rumble Champion, but he also set a Royal Rumble Match record by eliminating 13 Superstars in a single bout.

Strowman’s list of victims is as follows:

1. Babatunde
2. Dan Matha
3. Big E
4. Heath Slater
5. Tye Dillinger
6. Titus O’Neil
7. Curt Hawkins
8. Great Khali
9. Shane McMahon
10. Bobby Lashley
11. Chris Jericho
12. Kevin Owens
13. Big Cass

Braun broke the record previously held by Roman Reigns, who eliminated 12 Superstars in the 2014 Royal Rumble Match.

Another man who broke a long standing record formerly held by none other than Rey Mysterio is Daniel Bryan. The former World Champion entered the rumble at the #1 spot and lasted right until the end in the final three.

Bryan lasted in the Rumble for a shocking 1 hour 16 minutes until he was eliminated by Big Cass. Mysterio’s record was for lasting 1 hour and 2 minutes when he won the 2006 Royal Rumble match.

WWE also released an official statement congratulating Bryan on this amazing achievement:

Daniel Bryan sets Royal Rumble Match record

Daniel Bryan may not have won the first-ever 50-man Greatest Royal Rumble Match, but he did make history.

Mere weeks after returning to the ring following a three-year hiatus, the former WWE Champion set a record for the longest time spent in a Royal Rumble Match. Entering in the No. 1 spot, Bryan fought his way through all 50 entrants, making it to the final three.

All told, Bryan was in the match for a staggering one hour and 16 minutes. This shatters the record previously held by Rey Mysterio, who lasted for one hour, two minutes and 12 seconds in the 2006 Royal Rumble Match, which Mysterio won.

Bryan was eliminated by Big Cass, who was tossed by winner Braun Strowman. The “Yes!” Man will have an opportunity to get some retribution against the big man, though, when the two Superstars collide at WWE Backlash on Sunday, May 6 on WWE Network.
