Good Ol’ Jim Ross is one of the wisest minds in the pro-wrestling business and there’s no denying it. Therefore, when JR has his eyes on a talent, he/she is probably destined for greatness.
On his podcast, The Jim Ross Report, JR revealed the man he believes could be the next in line to grab the Universal Title.
JR said that Drew McIntyre has the potential to become the top guy on Monday Night RAW. He said that WWE shouldn’t rush with his booking and should make the slow transition by 2019. (h/t wrestlinginc)
“[Drew McIntyre] looks great, he sounds great, he’s in great condition, he’s just getting better and better. He’s a big time player. I could see, very easily, Drew McIntyre being a Universal or WWE Champion down the road. Without a doubt. It’s a lay-up; trust me on this one.”
McIntyre has been a potential blue-chip prospect ever since he made his return to the company last year. His current pairing with Ziggler is reportedly temporarily and management apparently has big plans for him.
It’s only a matter of time until the Scottish behemoth grabs the brass ring and reigns as the Universal Champion.
After a failed first run in the company, McIntyre made a name for himself elsewhere and drastically changed his look. McIntyre fits the mould that Vince McMahon deems necessary for a Superstar so that’s working out for him too.
Only time will tell if McIntyre will win a World Championship in the coming years.
