John Cena, amongst many other things, is a man who shoots straight.
The 16-time World Champion in pro wrestling is also a fantastic promo cutter, who can work the audience however he wants – a trait he feels comes naturally to Conor McGregor also.
Speaking to Entertainment.ie, Cena had this to say:
He gets the entertainment aspect of sport and I think he gets it as good, or better, than anyone else.
The way he promoted the fight against Mayweather; that’s what we do. He did as good, or better, than us.
I hope one day, if you’re out there watching and you want to come to WWE, he would be a fantastic WWE superstar, but again that’s out of my hands.
John Cena is currently in the middle of a ‘feud’ with the Undertaker, who he’s been calling out for a match at WrestleMania 34 but to no avail thus far.
Conor McGregor, on the other hand, is locked in negotiations with the UFC while putting his legs up and spending some of the $100 Million he made fighting Floyd Mayweather in 2017.
If UFC President Dana White is to be believed, McGregor can only be expected back into the Octagon in August or September of this year, to fight the winner of the Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Tony Ferguson fight at UFC 223.
However, he also added that Conor may never actually come back to fight again either.
And that’s where John Cena feels that McGregor could slide right into a role in the WWE, seamlessly.
He would do fantastic. Hell, he would put me out of work
Do you think Conor McGregor’s next step is transitioning into WWE? Or do you think that he still has top level MMA competition left in him?
