Last night’s WWE Hall of Fame welcomed former World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry to its class of 2018. Henry’s speech was one of the best in recent memory and the World’s Strongest Man even managed to make us all cry by addressing something very important.

Owen Hart fell to his untimely death at 1999’s Over The Edge pay-per-view. Hart who was considered an “in-ring genius” deserves to take his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame.
However, Owen’s wife Martha Hart has been against his induction and has also sued WWE for using their photos in the past.
Henry, who is a dear friend of the family and a great friend to Owen himself, pleaded Martha to let Owen be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in his speech last night:
And Martha, please, this is not from the company, this is not from other wrestlers, this is from his other brother.. He needs to be here.
Henry said that he would love to see Owen be amongst him and other members of the Hall of Fame someday because it’s his “birthright”.
Another inductee into the Class of 2018 Jeff Jarrett, also honoured Hart and his legacy. Jarrett was in a tag team with Hart at the time of the latter’s death.
Jarrett also shared stories of Owen pulling off ribs on his fellow wrestlers. He went on to say that Brian James and Owen Hart are two of the most important friends he has made in this business.
Owen Hart’s tragedy is one of the worst things to have happened in professional wrestling in general. The former Intercontinental and European Champion was destined for great success in his career before his untimely death.
Maybe after this public plea by Henry, Owen’s family will let him take his rightful place amongst the legends of this business.
