Baron Corbin was considered as the next big thing in the WWE when he won the Money In The Bank briefcase last year. However, those expectations drastically lowered down when the Lone Wolf failed to successfully cash in his contract on Jinder Mahal.
It is being reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that amongst all the talent that is not in the main event picture, Vince McMahon is reportedly the highest on Baron Corbin. According to Meltzer, McMahon sees Corbin as a future star and a big player for the company.
Corbin, who won the Andre the Giant Battle Royal at WrestleMania 32 which was also his debut match, has had a fairly successful career so far in the WWE. Not only is he a former Money In The Bank winner but also a former WWE United States Champion.
However, due to some controversies that he was involved in last year, it was believed that WWE might have dropped the ball on him. Interestingly, turns out that that’s not the case at all.
Recently in a leaked advertisement for July’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view, WWE Champion AJ Styles was being advertised to defend his title against Shinsuke Nakamura and…Baron Corbin!

Not only that, Styles is advertised to defend his title in the very same match at a SmackDown live event in Tupelo, Mississippi.
It is no coincidence that this report and these leaked advertisements all point towards a massive ascension for the Lone Wolf. For all we know, Corbin might pull off a Jinder Mahal and end up becoming a World Champion right after the Superstar Shake-up.
It will be interesting to see how WWE books Corbin in the future and if they choose him to be one of the big players for the company.
