WWE: Why Wasn’t Nikki Cross drafted to the main roster?

Nikki Cross has been wrestling on WWE NXT since 2016.

If you check out these lists of WWE superstars drafted to either RAW or SmackDown Live from NXT in the 2018 WWE Superstar Shake-Up, you will notice that the former NXT Tag Team Champions SAnitY made it to the main roster.

The faction in their run in NXT consisted of Eric Young, Alexander Wolfe, Killian Dain and Nikki Cross. While the three male superstars are set to debut on SmackDown Live, their female counterpart Nikki Cross will not be called up on the main roster.

The reason for this decision according to reports from The Wrestling Observer is that the NXT women’s division is deserted now with the top female competitors like Ember Moon, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce being drafted to the main roster. Nikki Cross is going to stay in NXT as a singles competitor to help with the women’s division there. The current champion Shayna Baszler will probably defend her NXT Women’s title against Nikki Cross.

Nikki Cross has been wrestling on WWE NXT since 2016.

SAnitY was formed in October of 2016 which originally had Sawyer Fulton with Young, Wolfe and Cross. Fulton was replaced by Dain when he was out with an injury. The faction won the NXT Tag Team Championships by defeating the Authors of Pain at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III event. They had a reign that lasted four months, which came to an end when they lost their titles to Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly on the December 20th episode of NXT.
